This is what keeps the Singaporean government running like hamsters on an exercise wheel....
According to a survey by ECA International, a global membership organisation for human resources professionals, we've taken the top spot as city best suited to expats. Natch. And nary a word about SPGs.
The survey was based on things like use of English (wau lau! you mean the expats haven't kenna our Singlish yet?) public transport, communications & health facilities and low crime rates.
I have to agree : Singapore is a very easy city to ease oneself into. We've got clear public signage, a fantastic system of public trasport, cheap taxis by global standards, and you can pretty much get anything you want so long as you don't upset the public/common status quo. TRUST me on this last one. We're not as stodgy as you might think.
After everything's been said and done, I like my nation state.
The only thing I want to do away with are the god-damned sheeple.
Natural introvert, learned extrovert.
