Hey Dad, you still alive?

If you are caring for an aged loved-one at home, would you not be concerned if he/she doesn't occasionally need to go potty? Or be fed? Or bathed? If said loved one is bed ridden, who clears the bed-pans? Who administers the medicines? Would one not wonder if none of the above had happened for 5-10 years?
