I like that Google is pushing more and more for world dominance.MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. - Google Inc. took a step toward
challenging Microsoft Corp.'s dominance in computer word-processing and spreadsheets with the announcement Tuesday of a software collaboration agreement with Sun Microsystems Inc. The move — as well as future plans in which both
companies will distribute each other's software — could let Google create or offer programs that would take on Microsoft Corp.'s industry-leading Office suite.
Reminds me of a time when I did work for the Sun Microsystems office here in SG, back when I worked with the marketing consultancy. Man, it was a bitch to correspond with my clients. Sun is so anti-Microsoft that staff do not use MS Office. They used something called StarOffice, if I remember correctly.
My clients had to convert reports and documents sent them. I remember they worked so hard on regional events that I had to print my emails and docs and have'em faxed to them. Which is ok - clients wishes were my commands, eh? But man, what a bitch when you're squeezing 24 hours of work into a 15 hour day.....
Still, good times. Tech industry can be incredibly stimulating!

Hey now... have you taken a look at OpenOffice, the open-source product that Sun is reselling as StarOffice, lately?
The release candidate of OpenOffice 2.0 is incredibly stable and in many ways much nicer than Microsoft Office at this point! And the price (free) is certainly right.
Personally I think everything else is more stable.
*wry grin*
Unfortunately, everyone uses MS because everyone ELSE is using it.
Like a self-propagating nightmare....
