I've been set up!

Today's shift was noon to 9PM, decided to have dinner before I headed home. Did I tell you my parents are currently in Japan? Yup, my travelling parents. I should be a child of gypsies lol.

Craved unagi, so off to the nearby Sakae Sushi outlet across the road.

Which was a big mistake, because the girl - whose tag included the words Night Supervisor - happily took down my order of an unagi bento set and then forgot to inform the kitchen.

So at 9.30 the manager comes around and I tell her, no, no last order for me, thank you. And then at 9.35, I ask about my bento set and she has the gall to tell me, I'm sorry, I forgot to tell the kitchen. But it's closed now. No alternatives, some inane suggestions, and nothing cuts it.

After some fuss, because I am hungry and every other place is closing and I am getting progressively grouchier, the manager says OK, we tell the kitchen to reopen, can you wait?

Ha. Wait. Yes. I should have said no. They ordered the food, I gulped it down because they closed at 10, and then 20 minutes later, my tummy rumbled. Yup, they had added Special Ingredients to my food, the kind you see in programmes entitled "When Chefs Take Revenge". I KNOW this because if the food's not right, my tummy will rumble in 30 minutes flat. You can time me.

And so.... lesson learned.... I might get my way as the customer, but was it worth an unpleasant 10 minutes in the bathroom? HHhhmmmmm. To the one who laced my food., all I can say is this :

May your genitals become gangrenous and squirt pus up your damned ass.

I call it Sucky Sushi. Terrible service encountered on many occasions. Went to the one near the CPF Building during lunchtime to get a takeaway; busy work day. Same thing, bitch forgot to tell the kitchen after taking my order. I STOOD at the counter and waited for 20 mins for 4.. or was it 2 - pieces of California sushi!

Damn, what a curse to put on the cook. But even that would be too good for them. Do I assume correctly that you will not be returning to that hell hole?

BTW, what is unagi? Don't think we have that here in Tennessee...

Ladies,
I am OK with occasional slow service because it doesn't cost much, I therefore don't expect much. But I DID expect a lot more from the manager.

Winston,
Unagi is freesh water eel, normally served with a sweet black sauce. Can be very delicious :)

Fiona I really am sorry that the cook made you suffer and that I am still laughing while typing this.
In my early days I was a trained chef and I admit that I also made a few people suffer for making me reopen my kitchen. I could tell you stories but that is for another time.
Hope you are feeling well.

Peace Greg

Greg,
Chef should have tried to find out who's fault it was. It was his own staff's fault for screwing up.

And please... for god's sake... don't tell me what you did. lol. I am EXTREMELY grossed out thinking of the sheer possibilities on what was "added".
