So my work buddy and I are walking home this morning after work.... and on the spur of the moment, we've decided to go catch a film at the nearby mall. (Mind, we work the night shift, 9AM to 9PM.)
So anyways..... we catch Assault On Precinct 13, which is pretty entertaining. It's a slightly different take on the good-cop-bad-cop angle and made for a decent 2 hours. Laurence Fishburne is still stuck, a little, in his Matrix persona, but I THINK I heard him swear once so that's ok.
Ethan Hawke, however, surprised me. I thought he carried the angsty "I killed my buddy now I deserve to die" role with a fair amount of panache. The last I caught of him was in Gattica. I think I like him better now.
And plot wise? Enough twists and turns to have kept me guessing. Which is a GOOD thing considering how formulaic most films turn out to be.
Go watch; you might enjoy it as well.
