And so the voting begins.
Would that I could wish for a Pope that recognises how much the Roman Catholic Church needs to move with the times. That the Church has isolated herself, from the ordinary people who love God, by acts sometimes so callous and arrogant that it's frightening.
You see the same cry for recognition from the 3rd world countries where more than half the 1.1 billion Catholics reside. As quoted by Reuters in this article : "Before Wojtyla's election Italy had held the papacy for 455 years. Many Italians hope they will now reclaim it and fear that if they fail, they may have lost their privileged position for good as the Church becomes increasingly international."
Loss of privileged positions? Fears of an international Church? Wahey! Looks like pride, as part of the 7 deadly sins, has no place in the Vatican, eh? Go on, play musical chairs in the confessionals every night with each other. Absolve away to your petty hearts' content.
Pah.

I don't think there will be a radical change - established institutions evolve at a snail's pace.
