Shopping

We were off shopping to-day. Normally, I'd hate to shop on a weekend, because you jostle with every father, mother, child, child-in-pram, grandparent and teenager that's out there. And Singapore's a pretty small place. When you're jostled, you're jostled.

Worked out well though, in the end...... Sis and I wound up at
PARCO Bugis Junction, one of my favourite places to shop. Crowded, yes, but we had fun rummaging in the ladies underwear bins - digging around for lacy pieces that would've been proud to grace an ultra-conservative. Stand aside, Nanny! These pieces are way too frumpy for an 84 year old!

Then we went through all the bags and shoes at Seiyu, even though we were supposed to shop for work tops for the sis.

Finally, after scrutinising about 80 pairs of shoes and about 50 handbags, we went outside for a smoke. Fountain was up and people were gathered around to watch.

Posted by Hello Kids at play - most soaked. No bath needed to-night then.

We trudged around some more, this time in the main shopping area. Realised my sister takes a lot longer in the changing room than I do, but hey! Made myself useful by bringing her different things to try.

Hhhmmmmm..... perhaps I should become a personal shopper. Yes? No? Think I'll be able to resist saying "You look like a retard in that. Next piece please."?

But I digress!
We trudged for about 4 hours straight. Serious shopping can be tiring business! Finally made our way to dinner about 9pm. Oh good! I was hungry!

Posted by Hello Penne + pesto sauce + pine nuts = extremely delicious

Topped that with this.

I haven't done this shopping thingie in a while, surprised myself when I realised how enjoyable it was. Perhaps the sister and I will do this again. Who knows?

I've always done my shopping on weekdays, rushing in half an hour before the shops close at 9.30pm. Always had something in mind. You know what you need, you go in, grab what you need, you scurry out. That's always been my style.

Oh crap, I might've mellowed out more than I realised....
