Damn. This woman doesn't deserve to be reunited with her child. It's a short one from Reuters UK so I'll post it in full here. BERLIN (Reuters) - A woman shoplifter in Germany abandoned her three-month-old baby after being caught stealing from a supermarket, authorities said on Friday. "When the security man told the woman to enter his office so he could check her identification, the perpetrator took off, leaving behind the baby and the pram," police in the town of Offenbach just south of Frankfurt said in a statement. Police managed to track down the 36-year-old Bulgarian after she left her identification in the pram, German media said. She was reunited with her baby and released pending her trial.
What kind of mother takes off like that? Sure, you may assume that the authorities will try and and reunite the two later. Or, given that this was for theft, she might have thought she could steal her child back later on.
What on earth went through her mind when she did that?
