Why am I not surprised about this?

Modern chinese, as a whole, have a lot of catching up to do. Singaporean Chinese are no exception. I used to think it was ingrained - that it was necessary to be all stoic and stiff on the inside, and even more wooden on the outside. And most people (of other races, usually) acknowledge that it's the Chinese who are truly mercernary in their pursuit of wealth.

Now, before you get your panties in a twist, I am half Chinese myself. So don't think I don't know what I'm talking about. The Chinese seem stoic about EVERYTHING, not just sexual issues.

I find it odd that a culture that has existed for thousands of years with such a rich, varied and, above all, complex society should find itself groping in the dark - no pun intended - for information on how to lead a healthy and happy sex life. It seems like a complete turn around from ye olden dayes.

Yes, you read the text from the link right..... it DOES say 9000 years of Chinese sexual history. Isn't it amazing how all the "old world" societies embraced their earthy, human, sexual side? Only to have it suppressed and hidden away come modernization?
