Women and porn

Inspired by a brief email exchange between Percy and myself - the topic of women and porn.

Do you watch porn? More importantly, do you watch porn with your woman? If you're a woman, do you giggle when your man watches it? It doesn't matter to me because I've always been interested in human sexuality - all the variations, all it's forms. I may not agree or want to try some of the things I've read about, but I'll read up on it even more to understand the rationale behind it.

I once had this neighbour - Ito and I were pretty close because we both smoked and we were around the same age. (I even babysat for her once. Good GRIEF. lol) I met Ito on the common corrider landing inbetween our flats once and she was livid and distraught. She'd found her hubby's cache of porn sites.

"Evil! Scandal! How can he do this to me? Am I not enough for him?" Well do I remember her fury.

But I also remember telling her - that it wasn't personal. Men will always fantasize. If he's got a working body and if he accepts his maleness and manliness, his imagination WILL wonder. Better for it to wonder at home on the PC, than vent it out on some streetwalker somewhere. You can never change the fact that men are built differently and need that visual stimulation.

Me? I'm happy with porn. It serves a purpose. I have my (ahem) favourite sites and my own preferences. No guesses that some of it would involve BDSM to some extent. I've found it to be an interesting way to set the mood with a partner as well.

What I canNOT stand is the really fake-o porn. You know the kind, where the women've all had their boobs done and will stand 90 degrees up whichever direction they're pointed at? The kind where you can see how bad the acting is, and how falsely unenthusiastic the actresses are. (The worse the actress, the louder the grunts, eh?)


Bad porn has a lot to anwer for.
