Fat

I don't believe super fat people should be helped.

This
story is incredible. Every time I hear of something like this, I would hope that something would happen to put them out of their misery. They're a burden to the state, their families, their friends and to themselves.

I do NOT believe that it's glandular problem or whatever bullshit. If it is a problem of some sort and you are so fat you cannot even get out of your damned bed, then something is VERY wrong somewhere. Society doesn't exist to serve you and your damned fat problems. A person exists within the society. That's why it's a bloody society.
Get off your ass and earn some self respect.

From yourself. FOR yourself.

There really are glandular conditions such as hypothyroidism where the body cannot properly metabolize calories thus resulting in obesity. People afflicted with this condition only have to sniff at food and gain pounds. That's exagerrated of course but you get the point.

I think we should be careful to know exactly what the cause for obesity is before making certain harsh judgments. Although I agree that in many cases the obese bring it upon themselves to be so, there are many others who are just genetically unlucky to suffer such a condition.

If a glandular problem is causing someone to weigh 1,000 pounds, they need to get some medical help.

If it's a glandular problem, he can be helped. I call bullshit because he didn't bother to get help.

How do I guess? Because if he did get help in time, and if it IS a medical problem, he wouldn't have been stuck in his bed.

Greg, I think countries with some sort of a welfare-type system are drained by those who abuse it.

You're American, I think you know what I mean. *wry grin*

I do get where you're coming from (I think) but such problems are not so easily remedied and the medical fixes are often too pricey and are not usually covered by insurance like stomach stapling for example.

All I'm saying is that some obese people have no choice but to be fat even when they don't eat. Thus, it's never acceptable to lump "super fat people," as you said, together in the same group because every case is unique.

Just thinking aloud. :)
