Blank moments

Was having dinner with bud.

She's made me promise I won't name her. You'll find out very shortly why.

Had passed her one of my ciggs, she was in the mood for a smoke. Hey, no problems! Gave her the stick, lit and held lighter for her, she stuck ciggie end into the flame. And held it there.

And held it there.

And held it there.

I blinked.
Repeatedly.
Eh?

As the ciggie started to char but not takelight, I blurted out "Hey! You have to suck the damned thing!" and we both had a giggling fit. Later on, she told me she'd been waiting for the ciggie to take light. I say again..... Eh? Then to-day I found out that these blank moments happen frequently enough for her to notice it herself. We spoke about it and had a good laugh at the few other examples that she related to me.


I shall have to spank her one of these days.
