I never thought I'd say this, but I was scared to-day.
As I left for home, I came down to find that the skies had ripped asunder. RIPPED, I tell you. Chilly, too, so took shelter behind a handy pillar so I could have a smoke in relative warmth.
Just for comparison, this is from me, the woman who is warm and complaining that the office is stuffy whilst the rest of the girls huddle under their cardigans and shawls.
And extremely vivid lightening flashes every 15 seconds thereabouts. First time I'd ever been caught out in a storm like that.
I tried to time my road crossing with the lulls in the lightening. But they just got faster and closer.
Told myself that I'm surrounded my modern building outfitted with the latestes in lightening protection technology. I would be ok. Yeah, I would be fine. Ok. OK! Go! Cross the damned road!
And by the time I'd gotten to the centre of this 2 lane road, I was scurrying across for all I was worth, stamping straight into puddles, clutching my brolly, hunched up as small as I could go. And scared. Did I mention scared?
I didn't enjoy it.
Natural introvert, learned extrovert.

I'm a storm freak and I would have found it very exciting! Of course, I live in Kansas and we get some powerful ones around here.
Joshua, don't you ever worry that the lightening will use you as a rod? :o
No, I'm not afraid of lightning. Actually, I'm quite fascinated by it. It just doesn't bother me for some reason :o)
Joshua - you're a brave, brave man. lol
