Oh boy, they did it - a face graft. :o
Some time back, it was bruited about that this might be the way to go for someone who was immensely facially disfigured. At that point in time, I thought it was a freaky thing to do - wear someone else's face. I couldn't fathom what it would be like to wear someone else's face.
And even though the original article pointed out that the bone structure beneath would ensure you didn't look identical, it still sounded a tad unreal. You'd look into the mirror for the rest of your life and see a stranger looking back at you. But judging from this woman's reaction, it was the only thing that gave her back her dignity.
Food for thought, eh?
