I got a call this morning, requesting my presence for an interview. The lady whom I spoke with said she would call back to fix the location and time for the session tomorrow. This was at 10am this morning.
No call throughout the entire day.
No word.
No nothing.
Oh, but wait....... an SMS sent at 11.34PM tonight.
What kind of company arranges a job interview via SMS and so late at night, to boot? Should I go? Is this a sign of how lousy they are at time management? Possibly how desperate they are to hire? Should I be worried? ( I am!) Should I be concerned? (Again, I am!) Should I waste a morning on my day off to visit with such a crappy person?
I called the agency and spoke to the recruitor. Found out that the woman I had spoken to (it was a mini interview by phone) was one of the ops managers there.
Should I consider such crappy timing and planning symptomatic of how she runs her department? Should I be worried? (I am, indeed). Do you think this is indicative of how employees are treated when they're hired and stuck for good?
I am still thinking about whether to attend. I have half a mind to send an SMS and turn her down.
Or perhaps I should just ignore it and call her tomorrow afternoon, saying I was in bed when the SMS came in?
I am fairly irritated.... she says I worked for no-name local companies. However, when I *did* work for them, they had a damned sight more courtesy that she's extending to me. There is a reason I quit corporate. And I really didn't take 1.5 years off only to be faced with crap like this again.

It sounds like a dead end job. You would probably be better off sleepin in and checking your e-mails instead.
Peace
Argh. Greg. Too late. lol. Went for the interview already and was pleasantly surprised.
However, it may not be for me, or my type of skill-set, so I gave the recruiter's number to one of my buddies at work and asked HIM to go apply instead.....
