Argh!

- RANT ALERT -

I hate incompetence.
I hate incompetence coupled with laziness and stubborness even more.

Emails dropped last night but I refused to look at'em. Did so to-day. No one was prepared for the carnage that ensued. IT dropped 50,000 emails last night. They will continue to drop 50,000 emails tommorrow and the day after, and finish up with 40,000 emails on Thursday night. A total of 190,000 emails to go out. And guess what? The embedded link didn't work. We're bloody 2 weeks late and the link wasn't working? What the hell was IT testing? How greasy their asses were on their lazy bodies?

Attest : out of the 117 emails I tended to to-day, a full three quarters, almost 100 emails, were from policy holders asking why we sent them emails that didn't work. Apology after emailed apology. But at least emails don't yell back.

Pity my co-workers who had to field the incoming calls. Have you ever had to make nice for someone else's mistake? Multiply that by about 90 times. If you don't feel pissed and frustrated at day's end, you're either (i) a zombie or (ii) imminently suited for call centre work.

I really wonder what the hell these guys are up to. What about UATs? What about mock-ups? What on earth are those 10 developers in my office doing? Twiddling their thumbs up their arses? What about their managers? What happened to planning? And timelines? And schedules? I know IT people. They're normally good about these things IF their bosses have the requisite background knowledge.

I'm betting our IT managers don't! Argh!
