As the world turns

Lo! I find myself up, at 2.30AM.
Wondering at the good/bad luck of having caught 2 Q-finals ending in penalty shootouts.

And realise it is July 2. I have just turned 34.

This always happens... every single year. The year plods - or whizzes, depending on what's going on - by, and next thing I know, I am a year older. But it's truely a non-event. I don't bruit it about. I never plan a celebration. I never do anything. More often than not, I'll be working. Like this year.

I guess I never did abide by mere numbers.

As old as you feel, as young as you think you are - that's what I always tell people.

Having said that, I did clear some time off next week (after world cup, o'course!) but it's going to be a stay-at-home week as the hotel I wanted is booked solid. Perhaps I'll do a little belated bday pampering. Gather up enough courage and get a brazilian wax. Heh! Did I say pampering? Or torturing?


Ah well. Another year. Older. Definitely wiser.
