How stupid can we get?

Spell phonetically? Over my dead body. And who the hell says it's easier anyways?

When "say," "they" and "weigh" rhyme, but "bomb," "comb" and "tomb" don't, wuudn't it maek mor sens to spel wurdz the wae thae sound? Those in favor of simplified spelling say children would learn faster and illiteracy rates would drop. Opponents say a new system would make spelling even more confusing.

Eether wae, the consept has yet to capcher th publix imajinaeshun.

y'know, I can't spell to save my life either. But I sure as hell can't see how spelling by sound is going to make it easier on people who're stupid. Or don't make the effort.

And mind you! I'm not asking for complicated words, not asking for multi-syllabic or hyphenated words. If you cannot spell way, or the, or either, then you really need help. Either that, or you're a two-bit lazy bastard who doesn't deserve the communication deserving of great language.


I'm pretty happy we'll never see this rubbish in SG.
