A womanly take on things

It's that time of the month again.

Strangely, no discomfort, no pain, everything's good to go. Even managed a walkie, which is ..... hugely different. My normal tendency is go straight home and
(a) curl up in bed and sleep it through.
(b) spend most of my time in the bathroom

Too much information? heh. It'll do you good. Especially if you're male and single. I'm one of the lucky ones. IF I do get cramps, it comes within 2 hours of onset, and it'll go away in about 2 hours too. Severity of the pain is really random. But I know women who are totally incapcitated. They'll go to work and all, but boy! Their life crashes apart from that.

Here's something else that I found out. Commericial tampons are an incredibly recent invention. That's tampons as we know them now.
This link gave me a quickie run down on the first commercial tampon. But seeing is better than believing!

First of all, we've come a long way from this.

I wonder how women managed, all those hundreds of years ago? And this classic was inserted without an applicator, without a tampon string, and was meant to be pulled out by that piece of gauze. ohmigawd.

And THIS one was a medicated tampon, supposed to be used as a contraceptive aid. I am filled with admiration for women of an age past, because I shuddered when I saw this picture. Definitely a reusable thingie. Something I am SO not keen on.

Women have it lucky now.
