I'm high, and at work.
No.... not really! Heh! Me? High? I don't even like the smell of weed. :o
But I did bring to work some of the cake my Mom had baked for Christmas and yeah, what a surprise.
See, Mom's sugi (semolina) and butter cakes have the same shade of yellow. The same golden/bronze-ish soft tops and I'd taken a huge wedge to work. Only, as I munched in, the first bite told me texture and taste were different. Way different And as I slowly ate that huge wedge, I felt a flush grow. Then I realised that I'd been smelling a faint but persistant aroma. No, this is not butter cake for sure!
Yeah. I had forgotten that Mom'd been super generous with the brandy which she'd sloshed liberally into the sugi cake. And yes, that wedge had enough brandy to give me a flush. It's the chinese half in me, that easy skin flushing.......
No, I am not high. Quite coherent, thank you very much!
PS - on second thoughts perhaps I SHOULD take up drinking again. Lord knows I need the fuzzy protection from stupid customers.

Tres Leches Cake - Mystery Solved
Hm. Maybe I should take up drinking again, too. Except for that whole, um, "waking up in the back of a car 50 miles from where my last conscious memory was, wondering how I got there" thing.
There's that.
:-)
EuroYank,
Thanks! I had a quick peek and it looks tasty!
Rich,
Neither of us have a good enough reason. Although yours does sort of trump mine. *wry grin*
