Oh boy, hadn't been to the movies in a while.
What with the Christmasrush, work, and then my short holiday, I hadn't plonked my arse down in a movie theatre in a while....
Off to see The Illusionist.
And it was a treat, let me tell you. Classic boy meets girl, boy loses girl, boy has to save girl from bad guy. But it was so lush; a period piece! Edward Norton has always been a pleasure to watch. And Paul Giamatti was wonderful as the Police Inspector. That was quite a nuanced performance.
It was genteel candy for the heart. Nothing loud, nothing brash, just soft, washed colours, very restrained but poignant characterization, and the illusions - of course it has magic :) - were quite quite credible.
HHmmmmm. Possibly even one for my collection.
Natural introvert, learned extrovert.
