Watch

Have you even watched the way people walked?

I mean, when you sit down and people watch, really people watch? Observe as they stroll along all unknowing? Do you look at the way they walk, the body language that goes with it, the facial expressions, the way they're gesturing?

I love people watching.
When I used to do corporate, the last job I had was with the ShangriLa and because it was situated in the main downtown area, the most major shopping stretch, in Singapore, as I walked after work to my bus stop it was a bonanza in terms of people watching.

There were also a number of places I'd go to for meals (Management did have it's privileges. Long lunches! lol) and boy, I was happy to sit alone and just let my eyes wander.

I've developed a special fascination for those that walk with flapping hands.... you know the ones..... the wide arm swing but when the arm is descending, the wrist gives a tiny jerk and the hand itself is flung, Fingers splayed without any control. Flung as if it's disjointed, as if the owner doesn't really want her hand. But as the arm descends, the hand flaps down and follows the arm. The arm swings, trailing the hand that seems so reluctant to follow. And when it reaches it's opposite apex, the same jerk, the same flinging, the same flapping descent.

And you know something? I just paused to think about this. And I don't recall seeing this type of walk on a man. Just the women. I wonder why this is?

Interesting to think about.

I too love to people watch. And walking style is one of the first things I notice. You can almost "know" the personality by the way they walk. Of course, the same is true for thee and me, so be careful...

Winston,
I know exactly what you mean.

You know, that did occur to me, that others would watch how *I* walk and judge me based on that.
:)
And I'm fine with that! They cannot say they didn't know what they were getting in to! lol
