I quit corporate in June2004 for a variety of reasons. And I have to say, life in the slow lane has been pretty good to me.
But I do have a confession. Sometimes, when work is extremely slow and I can feel my brain cells slowly being atrophied, I confess I do miss the buzz of running things.
*shrugs*
Instincts had been developed and although they've been somewhat dulled through the no-stress lifestyle I'd lead the past few years, they're still there. Bernie can testify to the few "boring" and "dull" moments I've had. She even quipped once Fi! I'm glad that you're blogging at least! Keeps the brain alive! haha. Yeah. Brain cells. I think I have one left.
So when I got a note from the JobPortal I had registered with ages ago, I was quite surprised. To be honest, I'd left my CV online but never really did anything about it. And this one's specs seem really really familiar! So I've sat and brooded about it for about 4 days now and my deadline to myself is tonight.
Ach. Time for a cigarette!
UPDATE
I've accepted the request so the post had to be revised in the interests of discretion.
At the very most, if I'm shortlisted for an interview, I'll at least get a chance to see what I'm still capable of. Dip of the toe, so to speak.
I had plans on moving on this year, assuming my relationship with the MasterChief doesn't pan out. If I'm not going to be moving my ass half a world away, I've got to think of myself, yes?
Onwards and upwards!
