Back

My parents are back.
Yeah, my trippy parents back from their traipse across Europe.

No no.... it was actually only Switzerland and Italy.

Switzerland gets 2 thumbs up. Apparently they've been there 5-6 times according to Mom. Damn. I can't remember them going to Europe THAT much. Really? Shows you how much attention I pay when they travel. I guess if you go twice a year, it all adds up after a decade. Heh.

Italy? Thumbs down. I dunno. Mom found out first hand how impatient and honky Italian drivers are. But beautiful cities. Old worlde charm. And fabulous gelatos. So. I shall have to see the pics when they're developed. Dad related amusing stories of how Italians LURVE to speed on their highways. Big bikes, loads of Porsche Carreras. Bikers togged out in racing colours and full leathers. And then there was this.

I don't know Fiona. There we were, clocking 135KM, being passed by a scooter. What? A scooter Dad? One of those fancy moped thingies? Nope. A scooter. Some old Piaggio or something. Guy must has have his throttle on full. Scooter creaking as it passed us. They're all mad, Fiona.

I think they had fun. Which is great. Apparently they explored and found all sorts of nooks and crannies that kept them fascinated. And they always get off the beaten path! They always come back with cries of Not an asian face in sight! They all think Singapore's in China! I recall when Mom was in... I don't know.. France, I think. Mom was haggling the price of a B&B and at the end of the haggling, whipped out her plat AMEX card or something. Gave the owner the shock of his life. Thought they were miserable Chinese. Then thereafter treated them like spendthrift Japanese. haha.

Parents, gotta love'em.
