I just have to share this with you.... I'm still in shock....
Caller : Hello? You all send me a cheque?
Me : Yes sir? What was this cheque for?
Caller : I cancelled my motor insurance.
Me : Yes sir. When you cancel your motor insurance, we refund you the unused protion of your premium.
Caller : Yes, but you sent me a cheque! How do I get the money?
Me : *STUNNED SILENCE*
Caller : Hello? How can I get my money??
Me : Sir, you have to bank in the cheque, to your own banking account.
Caller : You mean I can? But it's a different bank?
Me : *STUNNED SILENCE*
Caller : *embarrassed silence*
Me : Yes sir, you have to bank it into your own bank account.
Caller : yes yes, never mind. Ok.
*hangs ups*
Isn't this amazing? I cannot fathom how this guy is out there, riding a motorcycle, working and raising a family. And he can't bank in his own cheque.
I'm just.... speechless.....

The more I think about it, the more I realise it is both amazing AND terribly scary :o
But not unusual. I deal with many people like that everyday. I call them "Customers". They cannot seem to learn to plug the cables in, turn the power on, check for the obvious. They just call and I go and charge them good money to plug the sucker in or turn it on. It definitely is scary that we have people like that in responsible positions in society and that we allow them to reproduce...
