WTF - idiot territory.

Lemme see.... staff induction programme...

Supposed to help me adjust to life in my "new" job. My staff code is almost 3 years old and starts with 07XXXX. The rest start with 09XXXX. Can you see how old my number is? Yes? No? HR apparently doesn't give a damn. Company requirement. Ok. Fine. Vison Mission Motto and all that ingrained stuff, here I come!

So the 2 days are spent in an auditorium filled with the (usual) minority miscellaneous idiots, suck-asses and just plain dickheads. But that's just... you know.. a general roundup. lol. There are some decent, intelligent folk, so there's hope. However, what I really want to discuss was my morning today.

It involved the HUGE fucking header
SYSTEMS APPLICATION.

So I thought it would be a rehash on how to use the CRM platforms, maybe. Or perhaps how to navagate the staff intranet. But no, it starts with your ID and password. And how to log on to your computer. And the difference between the email on your computer, and the email you on the intranet. Then it's on to how to use the in-built calendars. (DOH!!) and it sort of degenerated from there. 3 hours on how to do the basics. And these are - truly - the basics.

I'm sorry - but when you hire someone to work for you, shouldn't you EXPECT the person to have some basic knowledge on how to use the computer? I mean, we're not asking you to strip it down and rebuild it, you know. But shouldn't you ought to know how to use a computer when you're in the office?


What a bloody waste of MY time. ARGH!!
