Largest

The moon's been gloriously large and luminescent the last few nights.

I wondered why and wandered over to APOD. They normally have all these great, gorgeous pictures AND great explanations. OOOOoooo........ there IS a reason why she's been hanging so low this week! This full moon will see it swing closest to the earth this year, along it's elliptical orbit, making it the
largest Full Moon of 2007. Cool, eh?

I mentioned this to Dad, because he has his weekly canoeing off Changi, and the first thing he thought of was the tides! :o True enough, he's just back, and he said the tides were the highest he'd ever seen, and the rise and fall was super quick. On the way back, they just had to steer, the tides pulled them along SO quickly. Amazing.

Sometimes I wish we had more moons in the sky. Can you imagine how spectacular that would be? To look up on a clear night, with the naked eye, and see this huge celestial waltz taking place overhead?

Oh my :o
