One thing Americans need to learn - and I am talking about IN GENERAL - is that American slang will not sit well nor be really understood OUTSIDE of your country.

So don't get all fucked up and upset when I don't respond to your "are you having fun yet" when you IM me out of nowhere. Fun? What fun? What context? Why can't you just say Hello? I'd definitely respond to a Hello!!

Or if I say "Nothing is up" to your inane "wassup"?

Or if you add me to your "favourites" list without even speaking to me and I decline.

The list goes on..... I am CLEARLY not American and my profile ANYWHERE states I am in Singapore.

Why does subtle not work? How about finesse? *throws hands up*

Then when I get blunt; because I am getting fed up and increasingly irritated; OH my word, how huffy and testy and all that shit can we get? Look, the world doesn't revolve around you. Or your language.

I cannot help but compare the different responses, especially on SecondLife. And my god, I cherish my "formal" encounters when someone actually says to me Hello, how are you? and knows how to continue from there.


Amazing. And not in a good way!!
