Bewildered

Another one? Good grief.

I am sorry, but in this day and age, I don't know how these women think selling off their virginity is a good thing. Don't get me wrong, I think it's perfectly all right to hold out until you are ready. With the right partner, not just any old dickhead. You should never be pressured into sex. Ever.

But I also think you've got rose tinted glasses, girlfriend. Soooooo rose tinted that they're totally obscuring your view of reality. In this day and age of in-your-face sexuality, violence and nudity, virginity is just something that isn't treasured. It's seems that more and more children think it's ok to go experiment, and if I were a parent, I'd be worried stiff.

Think I'm being a grouchy old cynic? Why yes! Thank you very much! When 14 year olds are
having babies? I think I'm entitled.

I wonder why we have these two extremes? Or.... perhaps it's not so extreme after all?

I mean, virginity used to be something treasured, protected, valued. And this wasn't so very long ago.But now.... it's either a commodity or ....it's meaningless? Thrown out at the first opportunity? How strange that something so intangibly precious can become something so crassly bartered in the space of two generations. Actually, come to think about it, I'm not sure which one is worse.

We're evolving all right, I'm just not sure if it's in a sane direction.
