When it's GOOD to spit

We have a lot of Filipinos working here.

Actually, about a quarter of our call centre staff are from the Philippines. So we get to learn about their culture, their language, their country, their heritage. All quite exotic.

Except their food.

Because we have so many of them, they bring food back after they come back from home leave? And inevitably, I will try when offered. And inevitably, I will discreetly have to p'tui them back out. It's easy to be discreet when you have to spit. NEED to spit. lol.

I don't know what it is.... but.... none of the foodstuff I've tried seems platable :o Go figure. It's not that it's weird, or strange tasting. It just doesn't taste.... good.

Like some hard candy they brought back. It looked kinda cool. So when I was offered, I chose one of every colour (their wrapping, I mean). And it tasted like cardboard. pbttthhh into some tissuepaper. End of candy. The other 3 pieces got dumped untasted.

It was exactly like chewing cardboard.

Yes I know what cardboard tastes like.

And just now... one of the girls offered a coffee candy. Coffee candy. We've all had that, right? Can't go wrong, right? I've got 2 girls with me, one took a fistful, I took one, and the other girl took, like, 4 pieces. Should be tasty, right?

Wrong. So wrong. hahahahhahahaha. p'tui I went. The other 2 girls are none the wiser. In fact, one of them is noisly sucking on her sweet. Mine's already in the bin.

I'm just so amused by it all :))

Og, with the kind of stuff these girls bring back... it's hard not to :)

Some of the stuff... man, I wouldn't feed it to anyone who has functioning taste buds. I don't understand how it could be so scrumptious to them!
