I've been staying at my brother's place since Tuesday.
It took a bit of getting used to.... different place, different environment, and cats! It took them a while to get used to me too! There's Judy, the scaredy cat who practically lives on top of the washing machine now. She'll only venture out of the kitchen area if no one's around. And there's Joey, the largest of the lot, and the only lap cat. Then there's Sweety, the matriach of the lot. Lasty.. there's Lefty, the love bug.
Can't post pics as yet; can only do that once I'm home. But.... as I dressed for work today, lovebug Lefty came and twirled around my ankles. Here I was, putting on my clothes, and this bugger is rubbing his cheeks against my big toe. He rubs quite hard and his teeth will scratch my skin.
It was a strange sensation. The teeth thing needs getting used to. As does having this cat persistantly asking for affection. But it's nice! Very, very nice! It's warm, fuzzy and reassuring all at the same time too.
I think I could get used to this :))

Lefty was marking you as "property". My cat used to do the stropping and marking also.
I had read that they have oil glands in their cheeks. That's why you'll see them lick the inside of their front legs and then wipe it on their cheeks.
They have one in their anuses also, that sometimes gets plugged, and needs to be "popped". ;-)

JimBob,
I know about the marking and the glands, I don't mind. In fact, all 4 kitties were soon doing it. It was just Lefty's teeth that made me jump :o
I think I'm flattered lol It means they're saying Mine! Mine!
It is *quite* worth getting used to. I highly recommend it. but, you knew that, didn't you?
;)
John,
You have the lovely, GORGEOUS Maddie to come home to every day. I'm jealous! lol.
