Unexpected but welcome

Say hello to my little friend.... heh heh heh.

You know, most times people would use that line for their evil-twin-mini-me. I don't have one. But what I do have is... tada... a new phone!

See, from last sunday, my phone started to give out on me. You know the story... you start out having to push the button a couple of times to get any result, then you push a few hundred times, then the buttons around THAT button start to share the malaise, and everything needs to be pushed a gazllion times now. And it ends up so that you can dial any amount of numbers, but you can't bloody actually use the damned phone.

So. New phone was called for.

By the way, I basically use the phone only for (i) calls (ii) SMSs, (iii) radio and (iv) alarm clock. Seriously, that's all. I do not need anything else. I don't need to surf on the go. I do not need facebook, email, google, GPS or any such application. I don't play games on my phone. The most I will use it for, probably, is to allow me radio access during my work.

My old phone was good, and if the buttons can be fixed, I'll still keep it as a backup. But perhaps it was time for a new one anyways. I'd been thinking of getting a new one but had never really considered choices so long as the old phone worked faithfully. But now? No choice. None at all.

Anyways, long story shirt, my phone SP had this deal running for CitiBank card holders. I checked the reviews of the phone and they seemed consistently good. And the offer price without a contract was only $168. Plus it was a Sony Ericsson, which was what my last 2 phones were. (Both worked well and I've really had no complaints.)  So ok, sounds like a plan.

Went to the shop, had a look at the phone, all seemed great; I liked the phone and colour, so I asked for a set. I tried to confirm the price and the guy says "Nope, not $168, it's $138". Oh hey, ok! I'm not complaining! I can live with a cheaper price lol.

But wait, that's not all.... At the cashier counter, the lady takes my , processes my payment, and then says "You get a $50 voucher with this set". Good grief! That is SUCH a steal!!! My phone is costing me a mere $88 :o My jaw dropped.

Lest one of you suspects Real Dinkiness in the phone, I didn't purchase a low end model. I got the Sony Ericsson Xperia x10 Mini Pro.

Sweet! Sweet deal! I'm been pretty fond of the Sony Ericsson's I've had thus far and this one seems like no exception :))

woo! I'm a happy camper! A HAPPY happy camper!

PS - forgot to mention that the irony of it all is that this is the most web-enabled phone I've ever had. Spent some time deleting apps. Don't want to log on inadvertently :o

You're right, Coco :)

It helps, of course, that they do proper cameras. lol. When they put cameras in phones, SE don't mess around!
