Unnecessary drama

We had a bit of drama last night at work....


See, apart from us 3 girls in the office, there's another office on the 8th floor that runs a 24/7 team. We hardly see each other at night and we pretty much feel as if we're in the building alone.


But last night... some bloody moron smoked in their loo, and threw the partially lit butt in the WASTE BIN. You fucking idiot. You're not even supposed to be smoking in the building itself, let alone in your office toilet. Why didn't you just flush the gawddamned thing down?


First thing we knew about this was the fire alarm. Actually, it is not unknown for electronics to give a hiccup or two at night. So we ignored the first round of siren calls and just waited for building security to make their announcement. And when they did, we just calmly rose, collected our belongings quickly, and made our way to the stairwell.


By the way, this is the first time I've ever encountered this : some sort of ventilation system kicked in, in the airwells. There was some sort of vacuum / air-suction thing going on, and the first girl to the door thought they were actually locked. No, not locked, I insisted. They're open. And then I heaved that first door with my body weight. Once the door popped, it swung open easily and the next door was easily dealt with. But we encountered 3 doors on our way down from the 4th floor. And all three had to be heaved. *shakes head* This will be reported to office, it is not a good thing.

Got to credit the guys though...on the scene in less than 3 minutes.

Newest E-Shifter Aileen wondering if our firemen were hot, like... in the movies. Perhaps back in her native Philippines, but not here!

One SCDF guy who turned up was... probably about my height or shorter :o I mean, I am sure he's a good worker, but there is NO way he is going to be able to lift and save me... fireman's lift or no.

We were stuck downstairs for about 1.5 hours. *small sigh* Hot, tired, needing to pee and yet... still thirsty...

You know, we smokers get a lot of flak for smoking irresponsibly. But as in most cases, smokers in general tend to be considerate, but all you need is one or two idiots to tar the entire group.




If I find out who the idiot is, imma gonna thump him!
