Drugs in Singapore

"SINGAPORE (Reuters) - Two 14-year-old Singapore brothers have begun a rare campaign in the city state to free their jailed father from death row, where he faces execution for trafficking about 1 kg (2.2 lb) of marijuana."

For those of you not from around here, Singapore has a really tough stance on drugs. Any sort of drug. Based on the article, I find it ironic that the boys' lawyer advised the boys to start a campaign. Why should a Singaporean not hang, when others have paid the same penalty?

I mean, I am sorry you boy are in such dire straights, but your daddy should've known better. He IS Singaporean after all. He's read all the papers, it's not like our laws and punishments on this topic are kept secret, he went in with his eyes open. Eyes open, reap the consequences. Perhaps you'll know better when you finally grow up. So whilst I empathise with you, I say let the law go the full course. If anything, blame it on your father for being so thoroughly irresponsible. Or stupid.

This is Singapore. You WILL get caught.
