I never knew North California was "different" until I made a trip there some years back. When I returned, my expat/american friends ribbed me no end. What? (they'd exclaim as they rolled their eyes and wriggled their eyebrows) California? San Francisco? That's not part of the US!
As I grew a little older and wiser, I saw what they meant. And this article shows that San Francisco hasn't lost it's edge.
Ah..... oh kay..... I think I'll continue to indulge myself behind closed doors, thanks.
