Terribly tired and testy.


Oh my - to-day was a firefighting Monday.
The kind where the weather, the colleagues and the customers all conspired to drain me.

It was hot, the air-conditioning in the office didn't seem to work. The girl next to me has a reputation for being quick-tongued and nasty and kept in interrupting me when I was on the phone, and I had 2 classic customers to-day.

One, a chinese woman who screamed at me for 15 minutes without letting me say a word. All because "your service is lousy! lousy!" and then when I offered to report the agent who serviced her so poorly, got all quiet and actually said "no lah, it's an ex colleague of mine. I don't want to get him in to trouble." Lady, I don't give a shit who he is. Poor service is poor service. And then you take it out on me? Yeah, funny.

And the second one, this indian man, who wanted to confirm something but couldn't remember whom he spoke with. And when I told him there were about 80 of us on the call centre floor, asked "Can't you ask just your malay colleagues? I know it was a malay woman. Her name has a Z somewhere, I know that". Fuck, yeah. I ended up speaking with him for almost half an hour.

And through it all, this girl Natalie, she keeps on waving her hands in front of my face, asking me "what's wrong? what's wrong"? I finally told the man to hold, PUT him on hold, and then snapped at her to please leave me alone, I'm on the phone.

This company is amazing. Natalie has been with this firm for over 10 years as a call centre agent and she hasn't even mastered the basics. The contract staff have it out for her because of her inability to speak to people CIVILLY. But that's another story.


Argh!
