I felt a twinge of empathy at this post on enrevanche.
I've worked for Americans, had them as colleagues and friends, dated some of'em as well. Heck, the MasterChief is American. The ones we get out here are the well travelled ones, the ones who have seen the world (to borrow a cliche) and are welcoming of foreign travel, food, people and the myraid experiences that come with living and breathing different cultures.
But unfortunately, not all Americans are like that. America has loads of allies and friends, but like all in-your-face personalities (haha, like me!), one will also have it's fair share of detractors. This article is unfortunate in that it also showcases the OTHER side of the coin."World leaders and ordinary citizens have expressed sympathy with the people of the southern United States whose lives were devastated by the hurricane and the
flooding that followed. But many have also been shocked by the images of
disorder beamed around the world -- looters roaming the debris-strewn streets
and thousands of people gathered in New Orleans waiting for the authorities to
provide food, water and other aid."
