Favourite sayings


Apart from saying "no worries" a lot (a gift from an ex who was Australian), the other phrase I use a lot is

As old as you think you are,
As young as you feel you are.

At least that one - ah, that one - Singaporeans understand.

"no worries" was an entirely different story though. NW was good to use when I was in the marketing consultancy. Expat bosses, expat colleagues, travelled friends. People didn't have a problem understanding each other. Damn. After that? At the hotel? Frickin'ell! "No worries" was returned by a puzzled look and the words "but I am not worried, leh?"


Now THAT was worrying.
