I came home and surfed the news whilst having dinner.

Rita is a Cat 5 storm?
Oh dear.
Local article in my paper carries a headline that the US Govt is trumpeting it's readiness after having learnt it's lessons from Katrina. But if the headline is true, then isn't it a bit too late for the thousands who endured such a shitty time with Kat? Why trumpet now? Just get on with it. (And they are! Most excellent!)

The irony of it all is that Rita might just calm down and just splash around. Isn't that just like life? You prepare, you strive, you reach, you make a herculean effort to anticipate and then..... fizzle fizzle fizzle. One could hope, in this case, anyways.
