Was off to Changi Beach to-day.
Loads of people out kayaking. There was a wonderful breeze. Me and Bernie were all prepared for an entire afternoon lazing on an empty beach, under a choice casuarina tree. Balmy and sunny, we saw sea birds frolicking. There was even a pigeon with only one foot. All was at peace.
On a weekday? No crowds? No hordes of screaming children? No wondering old men oogling women in bikinis? No boisterous teenagers kicking footballs around?
Aw yeah.
This was the life.
Then barely 1.5 hours into our lazy afternoon, across the straits, we could see rain on the horizon and we were wondering if we would be rained on eventually. One cold, swift and strong gust later, we were packing and scrambling to pick up the pareos we were sitting on.
Damn. Thwarted. No sunset by the beach for us to-day.
Natural introvert, learned extrovert.
