Senseless

Another account of an old, ugly, senseless crime. Honour killings

I especially find it hard to swallow when the article says that it was "a crime that shocked Pakistan". Bullshit. It's happened so many times, in so many villages. It's even happening in Pakistani enclaves - much like the ones in the UK.

Speaking to AP in the back of police pickup truck late Tuesday as he was shifted to a prison in the city of Multan, Ahmed showed no contrition. Appearing disheveled but composed, he said he killed Muqadas because she had committed adultery, and his daughters because he didn't want them to do the same when they grew up.

He said he bought a butcher's knife and a machete after midday prayers on Friday and hid them in the house where he carried out the killings.

"I thought the younger girls would do what their eldest sister had done, so they should be eliminated," he said, his hands cuffed, his face unshaven. "We are poor people and we have nothing else to protect but our honor."

Nothing to protect but honour. My ass. Did you "protect" your daughter who ran away from her husband because he beat her all the time? And how about giving the other little girls a chance to live? And prove you wrong? You slit their throats at the mere thought of it being possible - that they might do the same thing.

Grateful these thing will never happen in SG.
Angry because 3 lives were snuffed out, based on pride.

The mere thought of this still happening is depressing. And I'm glad that it doesnt happen in singapore too, and I hope that I never will be

You know after reading this I would take great pleasure in slowly cutting this guys testicals off with a old rusty dull knife and watching him bleed to death.
Then I would do his father uncles and brothers just too make sure there was no one left to do anymore mercy killins.
I realise this is another culture and life style but where is the sense in killin your own family?I have read the Qur'an twice so i know it doesn't come from there.

Peace

Marina, Singaporeans have a lot of things to be grateful for and don't bloody know it.

Greg, he deserved whatever is coming to him. Nothing to do with religion. Everything to do with mindless pride. Prolly the stupidest thing in the world to have as motivation.
