Not caring

My IT department has done it again.

Both CRM systems were down tonight. For maintenance. It's amazing how they do things with the minimum of effort to them. With the maximum amout of inconvenience to everyone else.

Perhaps I am used to working for corporate, where your bottom line is most important. Ergo, your customers. You do maintenance when it's your lull period. Not at a peak. But here... haha. What was I thinking? Stat board sloth! Who am I kidding?

So from about 7PM until about 10.15PM, I just sat there and took messages. Sorry to interrupt you, but before you tell me the full story, I have to tell you all my systems are down. I cannot check anything. Can you call us back tomorrow? Not exactly sterling service but if the organisation I work for doesn't give a shit, then I'm not going to give a rat's ass either.

It was different before. The customer or client was king. You want something now? Sure, we'll boot it all up for you. You want a 40 page powerpoint presentation? For training? Tomorrow? No problem. But now. Heh. Now. I wonder if this will be a permanent settling down? I hope not. I don't want to go through life not giving a shit.
