My parents are off to Ireland this evening.
Gone for 3 weeks, they'll prolly get a car whilst there (both have int'l driving licences) and drive around, seeing the sights. I have to admit that's a pretty good way to see a county.
They've been there before but I think my Mom enjoyed herself so much the last time that a repeat trip was in order. Japan is the other place they want to return to but that's another story.
Why the crest? Because the Hogan's are Irish. Although if you look at me, you won't find a single caucasian feature. Heh! The only thing I've inherited is the name and the temper.
Apparently some Hogan tried to trace the local Singaporean family tree. Apparently it got so complicated that he buggered off half way. All I know is that I'm about the 6th or 7th generation. Given an average of 30 years per generation, that's about 180 years we've been here. Long enough for the tangles to become so thick that we will forever call ourselves only Singaporeans.
But it's interesting, tracing your family. Found the MasterChief's crest as well. As a Toney, he's .... I think the term is American Irish? He's mentioned before he still has a lot of relatives in Ireland. He mentioned they discreetly hate him because he's a yank. lol. Oh lordy, he's got a quicker temper than I do too.
To your immense relief, I'm sure, we're not planning on kids.

You know it don't matter if you look Irish but the most important thing to being Irish is to be a drunk. ;)
I am not Irish but I sure do fit in with them. There is nothing better then a good Irish whiskey.
I hope your parents have a great time there.
Peace
Drunk! Damn. But I don't drink, Greg! lol.
Nevermind, my MasterChief can drink enough for the 2 of us. :o
