Peeved!

Good grief, I am peeved. Actually, pissed off would be more like it.

I have zero tolerance for rudeness and stupidity. Even more so when it comes from higher-ups we're supposed to emulate.

Had left the second half of my prized movie VCD at work and had called in to-day to ask if it was still there. This was an off-chance because I had heard nothing. The usual thing to expect is the standard house-keeping announcement of Who left this? Can you please claim it from XXX? But no. Nothing. Not a word, not a squeak.

Hoping against hope, I SMSed the day staff. Only to be told that a senior staff member had taken it home.

Sorry? Taken it HOME? WTF is that all about? This girl knew what I was talking about, she didn't even have to ask about movie title.

Holy shit, I called straight away. Yes, he had taken it home. No, it was not with him. By the way, do you need it back urgently?

Fuck me. Of course I need it back immediately. Why the fuck would I call and ask if I didn't need it? I could have waited until my next day shift to ask! Fucktard!! And the gall of it all, to ask if I wanted it back urgently.

Fuck you, if you haven't had a change to watch it. Not my fucking problem at all. My reply was swift and shit, was it terse. Yes, it IS mine after all. I will be back in the office on Thursday, can I expect to have it then? God almighty. This is a senior officer? You take someone's things without announcement, hoping to get away with it? How sneaky is that? Emulate you? Fuck that for a laugh!!

I know the girls in the office were talking about it because when one of my colleagues first picked up the phone and I identified myself, I heard a muted conversation in the background and knew they were commenting on this.


And YES I will get my movie disk back on Thursday.
