Idle ramblings + idiots who sit on their asses

Interestingly, I seem to be back to almost my normal surfing speed.

I must say I'm rather impressed.
I expected to have to twiddle my thumbs whilst the 4 very expensive repair ships trundle off to the Taiwanese coast for some painstaking repairwork. Fiber-optic cables laid deep on the ocean floor cannot be easy to mend.

And of course, there are all sorts of comments from local tech "experts" on how dependant the Asia Pac region is. Thank you for your supposedly knowledgable opnions. But truly, where are the options? What are the alternatives? It's easy for you to sit on your ass in your comfy airconditioned office and spew your opnion. But as experts, where's your solution?

I have a bone to pick with every single person who complains, but doesn't do something. Even throwing your ideas/thoughts at the wall just to see what sticks is better than sitting with there with your thumb up your ass.

Reminds me of the time I had to attend that company dinner I wasn't looking forward to. There was one chap who drove and, gentleman that he was, he offered to send me and 3 other ladies home afterwards. As Murphy's Law kicked in, we were stranded by the hotel entrance whilst poor G tried to search for us.

3 ladies, one in her early 40s, the other 2 possibly in their early 50s. All standing around, wringing their hands in the air, moaning about how long they were waiting. But did anyone try and CALL G? Nope. Content to stand there and moan. Yes, guess who it was who finally coordinated everything? And ended up being home 2 hours bloody later? Absolutely fucking useless people.


I guess what the say about the world being divided between talkers and doers is more true than anyone possibly imagines.....
