Not good

HHhhmmmm.
Double off day.
Thought
Bernie and I could use a break and thought it would be nice to head down to town for a chance.

So
Clarke Quay it was.
I hadn't been down for a while and the last time I was there, a fair number of places had hoardings up. And boy, was the place jumping. We wanted to head off to The Pump Room but heck, they wouldn't allow dinner reservations beyond 7.30PM. What's up with that? Weird weekend rules?

We ended up at the
The 1NiteStand Bar & Comedy Club. I've been going there on and off over the years for a long time now and have always wanted to try their food. The inhouse band is pretty tight and I've generally had a fairly good time whenever I've been there.

Um.

Not good. Not this time

We order the sample platter, which came with
- baked patato skins that were hard and clothlike tough
- buffalo wings which turned out to be fried chicken
- chicken quesadilla with tortilla skins crispy and hard, and filled with chicken breast meat. Still tasty, but a little hard to eat.
- and onion rings that, when Bernie tried to cut into one, bounced off her plate and on to the floor

HHhhmmmmm.
I thought a sample platter is normally used to showcase a chef's skills, yes? In this case, no. But I was still optimistic! I even went ahead and ordered their chocolate pudding! And yes, it wasn't rich, nor moist, nor even tasty. I came home and told my Mom that her chocolate cake was W A Y richer.

Argh! All that fried food, stuffed to the brim, and it wasn't even good food. We were so so so full that we didn't even THINK of getting off our seats, let alone go dancing.
*shales head*
Oh well. Off tomorrow as well so I think I shall seek out something that's consistantly tasty! Can always go dancing another time!

I'll get back to you on the food that makes up this evening :)
