But what's interesting is this : The US gets to pick the president of the World Bank. The EU gets to pick the president of the IMF. And this arrangement has been going on for some time now, apparently. Sorry, that was wrong. Not some time now. Since the institutions were founded 60 years ago. :o

Reuters has very kindly compiled a brief profile on Robert Zoellick, the new nominee. Have a read if you're interested. What I like about this guy is that he's currently with Goldman Sachs. You can't be that fucked up if you work for those guys, right?
