Found this awesome picture on APOD
I sometimes think about what it would be like to have clear skies with virtually no light pollution at all. How magnificent it must be to look up and see all those stars. To see them twinkling back, realising that because they're so far away, I am looking at the past. To feel small and appreciative of the vastness that is our universe. Like I did in Phuket, it was awesome. Absolutely awesome.
If Singapore had clearer horiozons, I think cloud watching and astronomy might very well have become hobbies. :o But alas, we get cotinuous cloud cover for dim sun rises/sets and we're surrounged by taller landmasses (not counting out own built up areas!).
There are no horizons in Singapore. :(
