I had time to think about things on this trip....
I mean, there was nothing BUT time. So think I did. But not too much. haha.
Friends made during trips are fun and wonderful :)
We made friends with the Scottish family... good fun, great conversation. And they learned a lot about Singapore which they wouldn't have ever gotten just by walking our streets.
Mosquitoe nets are over-rated.
Sleeping under one can get hot, actually. Mozzie nets may look fun and every girl dreams of a sleeping curtain. But they're only good for playing. lol.
Sibu island is being slowly eroded.
I took a walk along the beach one evening, and came across these huge markers. They're about 2M tall, spaced about 5M apart, and looked pretty out of place. As I got closer, I ralised they were some sort of markers. I am not sure WHAT they were marking though.... there were about 6 markers still left on the beach but about 4 had fallen into the sea!
Oh wow - at about 5M apart, multiplied by 4 markers. Does this mean the beach had been eroded inwards by 20M already? That is a very scary thought indeed.... We'd noticed that the surf was actually quite strong, and further along the beach, you could see where the beach had formed tiny cliffs about a foot high.
I wonder how long Sibu has left?

Good to hear from you and what you thought of the holiday. Hope you and Bernie are getting on good and that we will see you in the future. Maybe i could teach you some traditional Scottish dances this time!
