Sibu - the entertainment

Right, you guys saw the place.

It's in the middle of nowhere. There is sporadic cell coverage, no TVs, no internet, no newspapers. (There were also no latches on the doors, which was a little unsettling, but we got over that quickly!) So back to the "No"s. Whatever were we to do?

Bernie's been working 7 days a week with her various roles, so the total isloation from civilisation was a
welcome break for her. And for me? Picture taking time...

The ladies at the beach :

And of course, being us, mayhem ensued as the photos got.... erm.... weird.

Well... ok... perhaps not weird for men but for women? Haha. What happened was that I refused to take a decent photo i.e. stand still and Bernie was fiddling around with the camera and actually managed to capture my boobies on film. So naturally, I had to take one of hers too. I was of two minds on whether to post'em or not but what the hey, right?

Anyways, she's the natural subject between the 2 of us. See what I mean? The woman looks totally hot.

And then, of course, there is me. My parents will NEVER be able to marry me off. lol.

By the way, there was also a swing. w00t!

Our holiday vices....
Bloody hell. One packet of 25 sticks cost me RM7. Which is like... SGD3.50... argh! My virginia slims in SG costs me SGD11.60. How's that for taxes?

Apart from that, to be honest with you, you basically lie out on the beach. And apart from the damned sandflies, it was really worth while :)

Food was..... debatable.
They feed you, yes, but you don't really have a choice of dishes. And to be honest, we were quite taken aback. As Asians, the standard fare is white rice, one vege dish, one meat dish, and then one other thingie. Eggs, soup, whatever. Here, they serve you 2. Or worse.. only 1. And the place setting? Knife and fork. *rolls eyes* That's right, knife and fork for rice and asian food. But the interesting thing is they assign a table to you. At least we had somethign pretty to look at whilst we ate. haha.
By the third day, Bernie and I were ordering additional dishes just to supplement our fare.....

Then at night, everyone (all 20 guests. wow, they were crowded! ) retired to the lounge area for board games and drinking.
I taught Bernie how to play Gin Rummy and she promptly beat me 4 out of 5. Yeah, serves me right....

Right. And then there were the insects. No screaming from us two. But we were careful to ensure nothing got into our shack at night! This sucker was one of several who sat in and around our bathroom and the outside. It was slightly larger than my middle finger. So we REALLY took care when we moved around.

Definitely a different sort of holiday....

Damn. You look inviting in that netting.

The bug is a Katydid. Pretty innocuous. Also the subject of the Steely Dan album "Katy Lied".

My standards are pretty damned high.

And the netting is cool. But I bet annoying.

Og,
I'm flattered! Thank you :)

Yes, it was pretty irritating, actually. Hard not to get your feet tangled in that thing.....

I bet! Especially if you're not alone....
